PILATES
Pilates is a total body conditioning exercise focusing on strength, posture, control and balance - appropriate for all ages and levels.
Matwork Pilates |
A great place to start your pilates journey, using only your body weight and small equipment: balls, circles, bands & rollers to work on alignment, control and specificity throughout movement. All levels welcome, many variations are given so you can work at your own pace. Classes are 55 minutes. |
Reformer Pilates |
Using the principles of matwork pilates, but using the extraordinary properties of the Reformer: a spring loaded sliding carriage with bars and straps to challenge or give support throughout movement. Class sizes are small (maximum 6) ensuring you have correct technique whilst working in a group fitness scenario. We offer 45 minute lunch classes, else all classes are 55 minutes. All levels welcome, variations given for you to work at your own level. |
Clinical Pilates |
Research-based Clinical Pilates is an individualised programme designed specifically for your injury/rehabilitative needs.. An initial assessment is required by a Physiotherapist, and class sizes are small (maximum 5) to focus on your particular needs, receiving 1:1 guidance and working through your independent programme. A great way to begin Pilates if you are struggling with an injury, or are a beginner needing more support. Initial assessment and 1:1 appointments can be funded by ACC. |
Privates & Duets |
Perfect for friends who want to take classes together, couples or even individuals wanting more guidance and specificity, using the Pilates reformer, and small equipment. A couple of private sessions is a great way to introduce the Pilates concepts & basics prior to entering a class. |
